Team Rules
According to US COPAA Law, we can't really accept your registration electronically if you are under the age of 13, and we can't really do the signed-parental-consent-form that COPPA requires if you are.
Any taxes on prize money received by Team Members is solely the responsibility of the Team member. We may be required to report awarded prize monies above a certain amount (typically $600 or more) to the IRS, and we may require you to fill out a W-9 tax form as a result and will send you a 1099-MISC form for your taxes. For Non-US citizens, we are required to withhold approximately 20% of any payment and send it to the IRS.
Prize money unable to be delivered within 30 days will be donated to the Team Charity.
TeamDeciNena is not responsible for any communications difficulties or other circumstances that prevent a team member from participating or communicating with the team.
Team DeciNena is not in any way responsible for any injury, death or other undesirable circumstances that befall any team member during their participation with the team.
In accordance with the DARPA rules and US Law, Team DeciNena prohibits ANY unlawful behavior or violations of applicable rules or regulations that would affect the team or any team member.
We are a civilized team. We will not tolerate unwarranted profanity or uncivil behavior. Any member may be expelled from the team with the loss of all prize eligibility by the Organizers if they deem the member to be in violation of the team spirit of good will.
In the event that the amount of money to be distributed to ANY team member is less than the cost of distributing the money to them (Paypal fees, bank check charges, cost of writing checks and postage, etc) as determined by Organizer Vote, then that team member's prize distribution will not be awarded to the team member as cash, and instead will be donated to the Team Charity (along with any other funds due to the charity, hopefully as a lump sum).
Any other non-prize-money earnings generated by the team (through affiliate advertising or similar methods) will first be used to pay for any team expenses, and any remaining amount will be donated to the Team Charity.
All team rules are subject to change at any time.
